Is WHISPERLOOK free?

Yes. WHISPERLOOK is supported by advertising so the basic viewer can stay free.

Do I need an Instagram account?

No Instagram login is required for supported public content. You type a username, WHISPERLOOK looks.

Is WHISPERLOOK affiliated with Instagram?

No. WHISPERLOOK is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta.

Can I paste a link instead of a username?

Yes. Paste a profile, post or reel link into the search box and WHISPERLOOK works out which profile it belongs to. If a link type isn’t supported, try the @username instead.

Can I download stories, posts or reels?

No. WHISPERLOOK is a viewer, not a downloader. You can look at public content here; saving it isn’t something we offer.

Why did a story disappear?

Stories are only available while they’re live on the public profile, usually 24 hours. Highlights are the stories an account chose to keep, so those stay until the account removes them.

Can someone see that I watched their story?

For content specifically delivered through a supported anonymous-viewing provider, WHISPERLOOK should not use the visitor’s Instagram account. You never sign in here, so there’s no account of yours involved.

Does WHISPERLOOK work with private accounts?

No. WHISPERLOOK only supports public profiles and does not bypass privacy settings. A private account shows up as exactly that.

Why can’t I find a profile?

It may be private, renamed, unavailable, unsupported by the current provider, or temporarily inaccessible. Check the spelling first, then check the status page.

Do you store what I search for?

Only a short-lived cache, so a second look at the same profile is fast. It clears on its own. The privacy page has the details.
